Braylon Lee Rigsby

Abe and Brooke Rigsby are proud to announce the birth of their son, Braylon Lee Rigsby. Braylon was born August 5, 2009, at 7:29 am at Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery. He weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

McCaig/Johnston Wed in August Ceremony

Victoria Lynn McCaig and Doctor Bryan Irby Johnston were united in Holy Matrimony on August 1, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Tallassee, Alabama. The Reverend Glen Pugh officiated at the 6:00 pm ceremony.

Tori is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Lee McCaig, junior of Tallassee, Alabama. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. James Russell Davidson of Hueytown, Alabama and the late James Hoyt Dawson and of Mrs. Delmar Lee McCaig, senior of Tallassee, Alabama and the late Delmar Lee McCaig, senior.

Bryan is the son of Doctor Walter Easterling Johnston, junior and the late Maxine Irby Johnston of Vicksburg, Mississippi. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McGriff Irby, junior and the late Doctor and Mrs. Walter Easterling Johnston, senior all of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown designed by Monique Lhuillier made of ivory silk organza accented with Alencon lace at the bodice. A cathedral length veil with Alencon lace edging completed the bride’s ensemble. The bride carried a bouquet of white nova zembla roses, green tea roses, white hydrangea, and green hypericum wrapped in French silk ribbon and pearl pins. Tucked in the bouquet was an antique lace handkerchief belonging to the bride’s maternal great-grandmother.

Leigh Anne McCaig Butler of Tallassee, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor and Lauren Myers of Birmingham, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Candace Taylor Benson of Atlanta, Georgia, Sima Lal Gupta of Atlanta, Georgia, Tara Moore Hendrix of Birmingham, Laura Katherine Johnston, sister of the groom, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Jennifer Lynne Johnston McMillin, sister of the groom, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Margot Danzig Medved of Boston, Massachusetts, Kenzie Ingram Morton of Madison, Alabama, and Mary Catherine Richardson Phillips of Montgomery. The bridesmaids wore Watters and Watters two piece dresses with an ivory lace top and Midori green dupioni silk skirt and sash at the waist. They carried bouquets of white hydrangea and green hypericum wrapped in French silk ribbon and pearl pins.

Georgia Anne Butler, niece of the bride, served as Flower Girl. Her dress was an ivory and ecru French handmade dress embellished with lace and ribbon.

Doctor Johnston served his son as Best Man. Groomsmen were David Raymond Collins II, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Lester Wayne Johnson, junior, of New Orleans, Louisiana, Doctor Richard Leake Johnston, brother of the groom, of Miami, Florida, Michael Rhodes Johnston, brother of the groom, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sydney William Johnston, III, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Doctor Matthew Bradley Massey, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Doctor Charles Ramsey McCollum, III, of Jackson, Mississippi, Doctor Jason Trippe McNeese, of Ridgeland, Mississippi, and Walter Albert Simmons, junior, of Nashville, Tennessee.

Patricia Lair greeted the guests and gave them programs of the ceremony in the narthex before the service began. The ceremony was directed by Ida Turner of Tallassee. Wedding music was provided by Leslye Ames, organist, of Tallassee, The Lamb Family, violinists, of Tuscaloosa, and Lee Jackson, soloist, of Madison, Alabama. Floral designs for the wedding, wedding party, and reception were done by Al Cantrell of Al’s Flowers in Montgomery. The bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Trophy Room in Tallassee honoring the bride and groom featuring the exotic African animal trophies collected by Bill McKenzie of Montgomery. Jennie Weller Catering of Montgomery, provided the delicious food and Cake Designs, also of Montgomery designed the beautiful wedding cakes. The music of The Syndicate Band of Montgomery provided a fun filled evening for everyone.

A beautiful Rehearsal Dinner was hosted by Doctor Walter Johnston, the groom’s father on Friday evening, July 31, at Wynlakes Country Club. Melissa Kendall Floral Designs provided the green and white floral table arrangements accented with limes for the occasion.

The bride and her bridesmaids were entertained at noon on Friday, July 31, at a lovely Luncheon at the home of the bride’s parents. Hostesses for the Bridesmaid’s Luncheon were Gwen Atkinson, Margaret Baggett, Pat Boles, Cheryl Keahey, Joann Ledbetter, Peggy Little, Mary Carroll Payne, and Julie Williams.

The Ross Bridge Resort in Birmingham was the setting for a Bachelorette and Lingerie Party for Tori and her friends hosted by Whitney Weaver on the weekend of June 26, 2009. Bryan and his groomsmen also celebrated with a Bachelor Party at Perdido Key, Florida.

A Miscellaneous Shower for Tori and Bryan, on June 20, 2009 was hosted by Rose Mary and Mike Palermo at their home in Vicksburg. Hosts for the party were Clarissa and Mike Davis, Allyson and Syd Johnston, Cathy and Joe Johnston, Dinnie and Syd Johnston, Martha Ann Klaus, Martha Debra Strickland, and Lois and Butch Wilson.

Tara and Robbie Hendrix’s beautiful Birmingham home was the setting for Couples Party with a Mexican theme. Many friends of the couple helped with the festive June event.

Tori was honored with a Bridal Shower Luncheon on April 4, 2009 at the lovely home of Joy Bradford in Tallassee. The beautifully decorated table and delicious food were done by the hostesses Kay Davis, Linda Emfinger, Marie Emfinger, Beth Herren, Leigh Hethcox, Pam Jones, Louann Moore, Linda Mosher, Sandra Patterson, Cindy Pressley, Alunda Scarborough, Sally Weaver, Debbie Whitaker, and Julie Williams.

After a honeymoon trip to the Dominican Republic the couple will reside in Birmingham, Alabama.

Luncheon for Kelsey Butler

On July 2, 2009, Mrs. Janette Sides hosted a formal luncheon for her granddaughter, Kelsey Butler, and three friends. They were served by co-host, Miss Jessica Butler, and enjoyed a luncheon of punch, chicken fingers, and tossed salad, followed by a dessert of pound cake and ice cream. Each of the guests wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to their hosts for a delightful afternoon.

April Ceremony Unites Kami Butler, Joey Scarborough

Kami Butler and Joseph Tillman Scarborough, III were united in marriage on April 25, 2009 at the Church in the Pines on Lake Martin, Alabama. Officiating was Reverand Glen Pugh.

Kami is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Butler of Tallassee. She is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ned Butler and Mrs. Bernice Stalnaker, all of Tallassee, and the late Mr. Thomas Stalnaker.

The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tillman Scarborough, Jr. of Tallassee. He is the grandson of the late Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Tillman Scarborough, Sr., the late Mr. Homer Whitt and the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Edwards.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory strapless A-line gown with a beaded lace jacket. She carried a bouquet of cream roses, cream tulips, and blue hydrangeas created by Melissa Kendall Floral Designs.

Flower girls were Georgia Anne Butler and Brooke Royster, nieces of the bride. Niece of the bride, Brittan Moseley was junior bridesmaid. Serving as maid of honor was Beth Royster, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were sister of the groom, Beth Thornhill and friends of the bride, Katie Austin, Janna Ellis, Shona Griffith, Alex Harris, Ashley Moon and Leslie Whaley. The bridesmaids wore tea length black skirts with their choice of black and ivory tops and carried blue hydrangea balls.

The ring bearers were Jack Butler, nephew of the bride and Marshall Thornhill, nephew of the groom. Joey chose his father, Joseph Tillman Scarborough, Jr. as his best man. Groomsmen were Michael Butler, brother of the bride, Byron Marshall Thornhill, Jr., brother-in-law of the groom, and friends of the groom, J.W. Morris, Shep Morris, Jr., Jeremy Parker, Thomas Turner and Steven Weaver.

Cousins of the bride, Erica Culver, Jennifer Jenkins, and Beverly Yates served as guestbook and program attendants.

The wedding ceremony was directed by Mrs. Ida Turner and music was provided by Roland "Lucky" Jackson.

Following the cermony, a reception was held at the Groom's Parents' Residence where entertainment was provided by Accent band and catering provided by A Catered Affair. Following the honeymoon in Italy and France, the couple will reside in Tallassee.

Marlee Faithe Osborne was born on March 25th at 4:38pm at Baptist Medical Center East. She was 8lbs 15oz and 21.5 inches long. Parents are Jennifer and Stephen Osborne. Grandparents are Gloria and Charles Osborne of Tallassee, Paul and Joan White of Brighton, CO, and Debbie and Glen Sutton of Arkansas. Welcoming home Marlee are big sisters Haylee (9) and Anslee (6).
