TPD makes drug trafficking arrest

A man has been arrested on drug trafficking and other charges after being pulled over on a traffic stop. Tallassee patrol officers found a large quantity of narcotics during a routine check on Delta Road and South Tallassee Drive on June 29.

Keone Cunningham, a black male, has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Other charges could be added.

The illicit drugs were impounded and will be submitted to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for laboratory analysis. Police apprehended approximatley 563 grams of marijuana and 12 grams of what is beleived to be Fentanyl. In addition, five grams of heroin, five grams of cocaine and four grams of crack cocaine were found in Cunningham's vehicle. He also had $691 in assorted currency and a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun.

All subjects are considered innocent unitl proven guilty in a court of law.
