Langley joins commission race

Life-long Tallassee resident Brent Langley announced his candidacy for the Elmore County Commission's District 2 seat. Langley made the declaration at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Tallassee Lions Club on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

A 1989 graduate of Tallassee High School, Langley is currently employed with the Alabama Department of Labor as the Assistant Unemployment Administrator.  He has worked with the State of Alabama for 28 years. 

Langley spoke on his passion for public and community service, highlighting the various volunteer positions he has had over the past 17 years. He detailed economic development, infrastructure/sustainability, education and community service, and most importantly, the power of collaboration and inclusivity. Langley stressed his desire for every constituent to be "actively involved in the decision-making process that shapes Elmore County's future."

Having lived his whole life in the district for which he seeks to lead, Langley understands the unique challenges and opportunities it faces. He has witnessed firsthand the evolving needs of the residents.
