April: TeenBoss Workshop! Saturday, April 20th from 10:00am - 11:30am. This workshop teaches young people in our community how to start their own businesses! It includes a ton of resources, both online and on the shelf, access to a "super-secret" website for success, an e-workbook for goal setting, downloadable audio files, worksheets, business planning guides, customizable poster templates to market their new business and a whole lot more! It's all free and it's happening at Your Community Library!
May: Natural Treasures Craft Show! We are planning our first annual craft show at the library on Saturday, May 12th from 7:00am - 1:00pm. Our booths will carry only handcrafted items. The proceeds for this sale will go toward our "New Bookcases" fund.
New Bookcase Fund!: The library is growing and we have some great plans for taking advantage of every inch of available space in the library! We are planning to have 30 new, triple-case, two-sided bookcases built for the adult section of our library. The new cases will be much sturdier and one shelf higher than our current bookcases, helping us to not only grow "out" but "up" as well. If you'd like to help raise the $53,000 we need to get this expansion going, feel free to donate! Make checks payable to: Tallassee Community Library and in the "for" section of the check, write "New Bookcase Fund", then send it to P. O. Box 780044, Tallassee, AL 36078. It's tax deductible!
Library Closings in February: Saturday, Feb 18th and Monday, Feb. 20th.
Did you know?: We have eleven (11) public computers available for our community. The computers are up and running each morning at 9:00am and are used at first come, first served basis until one hour before the library closes. The policies for our public computers are given to new patrons, but copies are also available at any time both in the library and on our website.
