Dana Perret, 60 years of age, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was a high school graduate of Grace King High School in 1981 and received her BA in Gifted and Talented Art from Southeastern University. Dana’s talents were many, she was an extremely accomplished art teacher, gardener, cook, as well as a beloved wife and mother. Dana was a free spirit, who enjoyed listening to 60s and 70s music, swimming and sunbathing, decorating, and vintage décor. Dana excelled at planning and hosting large events and loved gatherings with friends and family. Dana is preceded in death by her father, Charles F. Ashurst, and grandparents on each family’s side, Inez P. Ashurst, Charles A. Ashurst, Lois Ledbetter, and Carson Ledbetter. She is survived by both her best friend and husband of 30 years, Kevin Perret; only daughter, Carson Perret; mother, Dian L. Ashurst; sister, Alyson Berthelot; brother in laws, Kevin Berthelot and Garry Perret; sister-in-law, Jennifer Perret; aunt, Joan Miller; uncles, Bill and Austin Ashurst and Mark “Butch” Ledbetter; nephew, Eric T. Berthelot, along with numerous friends. The funeral will be held Saturday, July 13th, at Jeffcoat Funeral Home, 255 Friendship Road, Tallassee, AL. 36078, with services at 11:00 AM.
