Six, Two & Ten

By Leigh Anne Butler

There is a new type of business that has popped up in Tallassee - it’s a big, pink and black rolling fashion boutique.  Six, Two and Ten Collection, LLC is providing area residents with a new way to shop…bringing the fashion a little closer to you.

Many people are familiar with the food truck craze that has swept larger cities across the country.  This is the same concept, except instead of a street taco you can purchase trendy clothing and accessories out of the fashion truck.

Tallassee area residents Melissa Hill and Kami Scarborough wanted to open a fashion boutique that would offer women of all ages and sizes reasonable, age-appropriate clothing and accessories.  About a year ago, they began selling their clothing on Facebook.  Shortly after, they had the idea to expand their business in a unique and fun way, a fashion truck.

The inside of the fashion truck is modeled after a stylish brick and mortar boutique, just smaller in scale.  Built-in shelves display accessories like earrings and necklaces while hanging racks are fitted with clothing.  The truck carries enough clothing and accessories to let customers browse but not get overwhelmed with too many choices.  With such a small space, inventory is constantly changing.  The fashion truck also houses a small dressing room.

The fashion truck is mobile, which means they bring the store right to the customer.  Six, Two & Ten Collection, LLC is currently booking fashion parties at area homes and businesses.  They also bring the truck to functions and festivals in the Tallassee area.

People often wonder where the name, Six, Two & Ten Collection originated.  Many Tallassee residents know right off but in case you don’t, the name honors the mill whistle schedule for Mount Vernon Mills which operated in Tallassee for many years.  The whistle sounded to alert employees of work schedules.  The whistle sounded every day at 6:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

In addition to selling their merchandise on the fashion truck, you can also purchase through their Facebook page.  New inventory is listed every Tuesday evening.  If you would like more information or would like to book a fashion party, contact Six, Two & Ten Collection, LLC at (334) 303-4124.
