Blocker makes all-star roster

The Alabama High School Athletic Association All-Star Sports Week is coming July 18-22 in Montgomery. With the advent of the event comes the announcement of team rosters for the various athletic competitions scheduled.

Tallassee High School's Will Blocker has been named to the South soccer squad. Blocker broke the team record for goals scored in 2022 with 28. He also added nine assists. The 5-10 striker will be a senior next season.

"He had an exceptional season," THS assistant coach Matthew Tarpley said, "just a phenomenal year. He's a fantastic student, a really good kid. He's really what we're looking for in a Tallassee soccer player."

The girls and boys games will be played at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on July 20.
