By Michael Butler

The Tallassee softball team returned to form even after a two-week respite. The Tigers played their first games since spring break and swept the field last week.

Tallassee (16-5) beat Stanhope Elmore 15-7 on March 31 at Southside. They won all three games of the Pell City Tournament on April 2 topping Pell City 6-4, Clay Central 8-0 and Pleasant Valley 9-0.

"We played good this week. We did some good things. It was good for us to get back on the field and play after spring break," head coach Pat Love said. "We played some quality softball in Pell City."

The Tigers are 1-0 in area play with the 14-4 five-inning win over Beauregard on March 17.

Next up in the area is Brewbaker Tech this week. The game has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 7 at 6 p.m. The Rams are 23-1 and 2-0 in area play this season. Their only defeat was a 1-0 loss to Austin on March 26.
