Cochran-Gill all-state first teamer

Tallassee High School football player Trent Cochran-Gill has been selected the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State Football team. Cochran-Gill, a 5-9/175 junior, was chosen as an athlete on the Class 4A team.

Another junior, Kalvin Levett was an honorable mention pick at wide receiver.

Tallassee has had a first-team selection five of the past six years. Jake Baker made first-team last year. Cochran-Gill's older brother Trey was a choice in 2010.

Cochran-Gill was an all-purpose star on the Tigers' 10-2 squad at running back and linebacker. He rushed for 527 yards on 83 attempts for a 6.3 average per carry. He had 22 pass receptions for 201 yards. He scored four touchdowns. He was also the team leader in tackles with 94, 11 for loss and a sack. He added an interception and two fumble recoveries.

Levett was a dual threat with 36 runs for 406 yards and 51 catches for 864 yards He accounted for 15 touchdowns.
