Griffin in the "Spotlight"

Tallassee sophomore running back Lil' Josh Griffin has been recognized among the AHSAA's Spotlight performances for week eight of the season.

Griffin rushed for a career-high 218 yards on 20 carries scoring three touchdowns in the Tigers' homecoming win over Valley on Oct. 7. He also recorded a sack on defense.

It makes back-to-back weeks with Griffin putting up his best effort as a varsity player. In the Sept. 29 win at Elmore County, he rushed for 140 yards on 14 carries with two TDs.

Through Tallassee's first eight games, Griffin has run 64 times for 482 yards - an average of 7.5 yards per carry. He has scored seven touchdowns.
