Dean grabs "Spotlight"

Tallassee's Woodrow Dean has earned the AHSAA Cross Country Spotlight for Week 3.

Dean, a junior, took first place among a field of 262 runners at the ninth annual AT&T Starr’s Mill Invitational in Georgia.

Dean's winning time of 15:32.00 shaved approximately 20 seconds off his time at last year's 2019 AHSAA championships. He was second in the state meet last year in Class 5A.

The closest competitor at the prestigious Georgia meet was 16 seconds behind Dean. Tallassee did not compete in the team competition.
