Baynes wraps up first college season

Staff Report

Tallassee High School graduate Brandon Baynes has one collegiate season under his belt. Baynes appeared in 43 games during the 2016 season at Central Alabama Community College in Alexander City.

Playing in left field and center field, Baynes batted third in the lineup with a .279 average that was second best for the Trojans. He led the squad in doubles (8), triples (2) and slugging percentage (.443). He had one homerun and 19 RBIs with 31 total hits and nine stolen bases.

Baynes will be prepping for his sophomore season during the summer with hopes of improving on his numbers and helping CACC win more games.

"I enjoyed playing this year, and I met some really great and talented guys," he said. "I want us to make it to the tournament next year. We didn't win a whole lot of games and I want that to change. We have some good guys coming back and some good guys coming in."
