Baseball team wins 3 of first 4

The Tallassee baseball season is off and running. The Tigers opened the season on Monday, Feb. 19 with a 5-4 at Central of Clay County.

The Tigers spent the latter part of the week in Montgomery with games on back-to-back days at Paterson Field.

On Thursday, Tallassee beat Park Crossing in a 13-9 slugfest. Tanner McNaughton (1-0) picked up the win. Tallassee used six different pitchers.

At the plate, Dylan Turner was 3-for-4. Jake Burton went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two walks. Kalvin Levett was also 2-for-3. Caleb Stewart and Jackson Gantt each went 2-for-4.n

THS was back in the Capital City on Friday against LAMP. The two split a pair of 4-0 games.

The Tigers took game one with Parker Nabors (1-0) picking up the win pitching four innings with three strikeouts and allowing five hits. Burton got the save. Casey Baynes went 2-for-3 at the dish. Zak Haynes was 2-for-4.

Beau Baker (0-1) took the loss in game two, allowing two runs on three hits with six strikeouts. Baynes gave up two runs in relief on two hits and went 2-for-3 at the plate. 

Tallassee (3-1) is in the Eastern Time Zone this week for a couple of games. The Tigers face Valley on Wednesday, Feb. 28 and Russell County on Thursday, March 1. Both games start at 4:30 Central Time.

Tallassee's home opener will be next Tuesday, March 6 vs. Clay Central at 4:30. 1300 WTLS/106.5 FM will broadcast live beginning at 4:00 with video coverage on Facebook Live.
