Bank robber hits Tallassee

The new year has begun and with it a January bank robbery. It occured at approximatley 10:48 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14 at First Community Bank on Gilmer Avenue in Tallassee.

The morning heist happened without incident. The perpetrator, a black male who was not wearing a mask, issued a note and never brandished a weapon. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Thr Suspect

Personnel at the local bank are cooperating with the FBI.

A robbery of a similar nature took place exactly one week ago in the morning at MAX Federal Credit Union on Zelda Road in Montgomery. Another bank robbery occured three days later at BancorpSouth Bank in Greenville.

The suspect's description is a match in all three pieces of surveillance video.
