BURAK

Stanley J. 91, of Clifton died suddenly on Friday, January 20, 2012. Born in Scranton, PA, he resided in Clifton for the past 60 years. Stan is a US Marine Corps Veteran of WWII, who participated in the defense of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 and participated in the invasions of Hoi-Namur in the Marshall Islands and Okinawa in the Ryukyu Islands. He is a member of the "Pearl Harbor Survivors Assn." and American Legion Post #8. Stan owned and operated S J Burak Landscaping Co. in Clifton for 30 years prior to his retirement. Stan was an active member of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church in Clifton who served as an Eucharistic Minister and Usher as well as a member of the church's 39rs Club. He was a volunteer at Mountainside Hospital in their Pastoral Care Services. Stan was also the Chaplain for BSA Troop 23. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Stella, two sons, Joseph Burak and wife, Maria of Clifton and Dr. Steven Burak and wife, Patricia of Tallassee, AL and by six grandchildren, Sarah, Melissa, Stella, Brian, David and Emily Burak. Funeral services were directed by Allwood Funeral Home with Mass at St. Andrew RC Church and burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
