Mrs.
Dorothy Crockett Baker, a
resident of Tallassee, Alabama, born
December 16, 1918, passed away Wednesday,
September 01, 2010, at the age of
91.
Funeral services will be Friday, September
03, 2010, at 10:00am from Jeffcoat
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dave
Barkalow and Rev. Larry Layne officiating.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery,
Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.
The
family will receive friends on Friday,
September 03, 2010, from 9:00am until
service time at Jeffcoat Funeral Home.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her daughter,
Mrs. Jane Bryant of Tallassee; sister,
Mrs. Jeanette Dennis of Tallassee;
sister-in-law, Mary Morgan (Joe) of
Fort Walton Beach, Florida; daughter-in-law,
Norma Baker of Gautier, Mississippi;
five grandchildren, Mike Baker (Sandy)
of Panama City, Florida, Angie Hayes
(Scott) of Montgomery, Greg Baker
(Angie) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi,
Lee Baker of Atlanta, Georgia and
Missy Hartley of New Orleans, Louisiana;
seven great grandchildren, Chad, Jessica,
NaCole, Catherine, Elizabeth, Jade
and Myles; one great great grandchild,
Jenna and several nieces and nephews.
She
is preceded in death by her husband,
Mr. Wilson Baker; son-in-law, Tommy
Bryant; father and mother, Blanchard
Milstead Crockett and Minnie Strength
Crockett; brothers, A. Lee Crockett
and James Crockett and sisters, Christine
Britt, Agnes Wadsworth, Marguerite
Crockett and Ruth Wilburn.
Mrs.
Baker, known as Dot, was a native
of Tallassee, moved to Auburn in 1998
to be close to family and later returned
to Tallassee in 2008. She was a member
of First United Methodist Church of
Tallassee. Mrs. Baker was a loving
wife, mother, grandmother and sister,
who enjoyed her family and who also
enjoyed birdwatching.
In
lieu of flowers, the family requests
that memorial contributions be made
to a favorite charity.
