Mrs. Mattie Lou Hammond, a resident of Tallassee, Alabama, born November 18, 1910, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010, at the age of 99.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 28, 2010, at 11:00am from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Vernon and Rev. William Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 28, 2010, from 10:00am until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hammond is survived by her son, Mr. Blair D. Rodriguez (Jeannie); 8 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; 14 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Great Grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Virginia P. (Milam) Vernon and Mrs. Lucille (Milam) Goodman and a brother, Mr. H. Clinton Milam.

Mrs. Hammond is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Woodie C. Hammond; children, Billie Jean H. Garnett (David T.) and Dorothy Ann H. Rodriguez; parents, Albert L. Milam and Eunice A. McClellan Milam and siblings, O. Odell Milam, Lessie J. Milam, A. Talmadge Milam, Ivy L. Milam, Daniel W. Milam, Opal J. ( Milam) Brooks and Juanita J.( Milam) Peters.
