Robbery suspects nabbed

Staff Report

Less than 48 hours after the Tallassee Sunoco Gas Station was robbed, three suspects have been captured. Two are juveniles.

Jaden Potts, an 18-year-old black male, is in custody. A white female juvenile and black male juvenile were also arrested, whose names have been withheld.

At 1:07 a.m. on Tuesday, authorities were called to the Sunoco on Gilmer Avenue after a clerk said that two black males had attempted to rob the store but fled without getting any currency.

"Tallassee investigators later learned that a gas station in Wetumpka had been robbed with a similar description," Tallassee Police Chief Matthew Higgins said. "The investigative divisions from Tallassee P.D. and Wetumpka P.D. began working cooperatively and were able to quickly identify some suspects in these robberies."

Higgins added that other charges are pending in unrelated crimes.

"I would like to commend the officers and detectives from both agencies for their outstanding teamwork in identifying and apprehending these suspects in such a timely manner."

All three suspects were charged with two counts of robbery first degree and placed in the Elmore County Jail.
