McDaniel announces run for school board

Ron McDaniel is a retired educator of the Tallassee City School System.  He was hired to teach at Tallassee High School in the Fall of 1978.  Many know him as “Coach Mac” having coached football and basketball and taught Science, Driver’s Education, and Diversified Occupations during his tenure with the schools.  The final sixteen years he served as Principal at Southside Middle School.

Ron is married to the former Carol Ingram of Tallassee and they have two children.  Jenny is a 1992 graduate of THS and she and husband, Corbin, have given them three beautiful grandchildren. Craig is a 2004 graduate of THS and lives with wife Lindsay in Millbrook.  Craig is currently employed with TCS at Southside Middle School.

Ron and Carol are active members of Tallassee First Baptist Church having served in a variety of leadership positions in their beloved church. Ron loves to sing and is a member of the choir, quartets, and ensembles. One of his favorite activities is to sing with the River City Singers Barber Shop Quartet.

Since retiring from the school system in 2009 Coach Mac has continued his involvement in community affairs. He has served on the Chamber of Commerce and was President of the Chamber 2014-2015.  Currently he is an active member of the Tallassee Planning Commission serving as President.

I am humbly asking for the support of Ward Four residents on Aug. 23. Together we can provide the best atmosphere for learning for our children!
