Bodenheimer to run for council

Charles Andrew "Andy" Bodenheimer is announcing his candidacy for city councilman for the City of Tallassee, Ward 5 and is looking forward to working with the incoming newly elected city officials to build Tallassee from the Treasure on the Tallapoosa into the Diamond Jewel of Alabama.

Andy is a lifelong resident of Tallassee and was born and raised among the streets from Jordanville to Carrville and all along the roads of Elmore and Tallapoosa Counties. Andy graduated Tallassee High School in 1997 and afterwards attended Troy State University obtaining his general studies before transferring to Trenholm State Technical to achieve his associates degree in Emergency Medicine. Andy has worked all over the state of Alabama as first a Basic EMT and then a Critical Care Paramedic.

Mr. Bodenheimer has also worked all over the United States working in the Commercial Transportation businesses, but he now works locally with Advanced Disposal and has lived in East Tallassee for two years, having moved from West Tallassee.

Bodenheimer is the son of Tony Bodenheimer and Kristy Lilly, both of whom were born and raised in Tallassee as well. Tony has served in the medical field, business field and as a Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam Conflict, as well as recently working at Maxwell AFB transporting Distinguished Visitors around Central Alabama. Kristy has worked in the medical field and also worked for the City of Tallassee for many years before both retiring.

Bodenheimer married Julie Lynne Patterson, a 1995 graduate of Talladega High School in 2004. Mrs. Bodenheimer brings with her to the campaign almost two decades of Retail Management experience as well as incorporating her own family's experiences into the Bodenheimer household. Andy is also the brother of Tonya Rogers, a 1993 graduate of Tallassee High School.

The Bodenheimers and their families have history in the Tallassee area dating back to the early 1800s, so Andy feels it is important for him to "strive to be the best representative for my family, not only my blood family, but my Tallassee family as humanly possible. To be the voice of a generation who built our wonderful hometown but also a voice for the future survival of our beloved home." Bodenheimer is an avid historian, living historian, preservationist and historical educator in his free time.

Andy's main beliefs for the continued prosperity of Tallassee are; "First and foremost, bringing new business and new revenues to the treasury of the city. Secondly using common sense and fiscal responsibility, we use the revenues within our means to secure our public safety and bring recreation, sports, natural beauty and the great hospitality of Small Town Alabama to the forefront of Tourism and Exhibition of Alabama. Thirdly, let us instill pride to be from Tallassee, let's work together as one city, as one people, as one family to enhance everything Tallassee was, is, and can be, and in saying that I thank you to everyone of my family whether you are from Tallaweka, Milstead, Riverside Heights or anywhere in between for your support, love. Thank you."
