Love reflects on softball season

By Michael Butler

Tallassee head softball coach Pat Love has completed his first season at the helm of the program. The Tigers went 25-17 and hosted the area tournament after an unblemished area record in the regular season.

After beating Elmore County 12-2 in the first game of the area tourney last week, the Tigers dropped games to Holtville (5-2) and Elmore County (12-10), failing to reach the championship and advance to the playoffs.

"The season didn't end  the way we wanted, but overall we had a good season," Love said. "We ended up with 25 wins on the year. That was a big improvement for the last few years. We had several big wins on the year, beating several ranked teams throughout the year. The girls really bought in this season. We had great senior leadership all year. They really helped us as a team grow. "

Although the Tigers will lose some key seniors; Janaisha Moore, Hannah Linville, LA Parker, Meredith McClellan, Kamme Parker, the nucleus for continued success is in place, Love feels.

"We definitely got things going in the right direction and I am looking for bigs things to come from this team in the future. I am very proud of this team and everything they accomplished."
