Soccer team cruises into spring break

The Tallassee soccer team has reached spring break week in what has been an impressive resume of work thus far this season. The Tigers are 6-2-3 with seven matches remaining before sub-state.

"Our defensive four and goalie are currently playing lights out," head coach Katie Hayley said of Braedon Felts, Jacob Ledbetter, Caleb Thornton, Quentin Jeter and Cody Gilson, who plays goalie. "The whole team is playing well defensively, which is really opening up things for us offensively."

Hayley's team is 1-1 in the area after splitting games with Elmore County.

"We have the heart of our season coming up after spring break," she added.

Tallassee's top goal scorers are; Fernando Marcos (9), Noah Bradford (7) and Jereme Freeman (4).

The Tigers return to action on Monday, April 2 at home vs. Prattville Christian. The next area match will be against Marbury on Friday, April 6. The game has switched venues to J. E. "Hot" O'Brien Stadium in Tallassee. The April 24 meeting will be at Marbury.
