Pigg takes job at Dallas County

Staff Report

Tallassee High School varsity girls basketball coach and assistant football coach Zeke Pigg has accepted the head football coach's position at Dallas County High School.

Pigg was hired by Tallassee head football coach and athletic director Mike Battles in 2014 after serving as a student assistant at Faulkner University, where he was a two-year letterman and defensive back.

Pigg returned to Faulkner to join Charlie Boren's staff in 2015 as a graduate assistant. He rejoined Battles at THS last year.

"Congratulations to Coach Pigg," Battles posted on Twitter. "(We) hate to see him leave Tallassee, but we wish him nothing but good luck. Thanks for all you did for the THS Tigers."

Pigg replaces Clifford Matthews in Platnersville, who went 3-7 in his one season at the helm. The Hornets have had two winning seasons since 2005.
