Griffin named QB Club player of week

Tallassee senior Tavarious "Truck" Griffin has been named the Montgomery Quarterback Club's Public School Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 11.

Griffin, an all-purpose player for the Tigers, rushed for 136 yards on 13 carries with two touchdowns and added a 12-yard pass reception in Tallassee’s 21-6 win over Rehobeth. He he played every snap on defense and recorded eight tackles.

Tate Holley from Trinity Presbyterian School was named the Private School Player of the Week.

Both players will be honored at the Montgomery Quarterback Club's Oct. 22 meeting. Tom Luginbill, college football analyst for ESPN, will be the featured speaker.

The Montgomery Quarterback Club meets at the Capital City Club in downtown Montgomery. The social hour begins at 5:15 followed by dinner at 6:15 and the program at 6:45.
