Tallassee pair All-America first-teamers
Staff Report
Two Tallassee baseball players are getting national attention. Brue Milner and Jamarkus Smith have been named to the Perfect Game 11U Tourney All-American Team.
"Milner was the only prospect on the first or second team to obtain double-digit all-tournament selections, as the young catcher put up impressive numbers across the board offensively," Perfect Game posted on its website.
Milner, picked as a first-team hitter with his teammate Smith, batted .460 with 9 homeruns and 30 RBIs during the 2020 season. Smith, a selection at middle infielder, hit .440 with 7 homers and 40 RBIs.
The tandem plays for the Central Alabama Bolts, coached by Brent Milner, Brue's father.
"It's (big) for two small-town Tallassee boys to make the PG National All-American First Team," Coach Milner said.
Just four Alabama players were recognized with first-team honors.
