Ingram, Love all-star picks

Staff Report

Tallassee's Jacob A. Ingram and Lexi Love have been selected to the AHSAA All-Star Baseball and Softball squads. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, All-Star Sports Week events have been canceled but it does not take away from the recognition of the athletes.

The teams comprised of 2021 rising seniors were chosen by a special coaches committee from nominations received from AHSAA member school coaches.

"This is an outstanding group of baseball standouts and coaches," said Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association (AHSADCA) director Jamie Lee. "We are proud to announce these teams even though we are disappointed the All-Star competition set for the All-Star Sports Week this summer has been canceled. Each player will be receiving certificates from the AHSADCA for their selection to these prestigious squads."

Ingram was the Tigers' ace on the mound leading the team in wins and earned run average. He went 4-1 on the season with one save in 24 1/3 innings of work. He struck out 32 and walked 19. His ERA was 1.73.

Love, a catcher, batted .457 for Tallassee. She had a team-leading 3 homeruns in the abbreviated season and added 18 RBIs.
