Tallassee team state runner-up

Tallassee sent two teams to the Senior Babe Ruth State Tournament in Andalusia. The Tallassee II team made it to the title game. They were defeated 10-0 by Mobile's Raw Dawgs, which ran its winning streak up to 57 games.

Tallassee II lost just twice in the tournament, both times to Mobile.

In the 4-2 win over Covington County on Saturday, Shawn Thomas got the win with seven strikeouts. Blaise Coleman , Darryl Woodall, Jonathan Robbins and Jesse Rowlen scored Tallassee's runs.

Tallassee's other victory came over Etowah County on Monday after overcoming a 3-run lead by Etowah County. Coleman, Robbins, Thomas, Beau Pritchard and Jed Carter all scored for Tallassee. The biggest run came in the seventh with Jesse Rowlen's blast over the right field scoreboard. Thomas and Carter handled the pitching duties in the win.

Tallassee II team members are: Jed Carter, Blaise Coleman, Shelby Flurry, Josh Highland, Matthew Jones, Beau Pritchard, Jonathoan Robbins, Jesse Rowlen, Hunter Sullivan, Shawn Thomas, Darryl Woodall, and Todd Burton. Coaches are: Herbert Woodall, Billy Robbins and Mickey Coleman.
